What is this? Who are you?

Good questions, both of them. My name’s Randall Hopkins (my close and mid-tier friends call me Randy). I’m a filmmaker. I can prove it because I graduated with a radio and television and film degree from The University of Texas at Austin. I’ve been into the idea of making movies since I was a toddler. From day one, my dad couldn’t pry the gigantic VHS camcorder from my abnormally strong toddler fingers if he wanted to. And I guess that’s a pretty common anecdote; but it’s true, dammit. Since, I’ve actually made some movies, short as they may be. Some of them have even shown at fine, fine film festivals and other such screening events. That’s great, and I’d like to make that happen more often.

2012 will be an exciting year. Dreams are being dreamed to paper. Projects are cooking. And I’d like to invite you along for the ride, whether as a spectator or a team member. Check out some of my stuff, won’t you? If you’d like to discuss an idea, get in touch.
